“March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” In the 19th century it was used as a prediction contingent on a year’s early March weather: If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb.
This is a folklore proverb used to predict the weather patterns particularly for farmers and their crops and ships that will be sailing.
The month of March usually starts with cold, unpleasant weather, but ends mild and pleasant.
As we all know, weather patterns are harder to predict, and it seems that we have all had our share of “lion” weather. From fire storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, blizzards and ice storms, it seems no area of our country has been spared the ravages of natural disasters.
As our people are challenged so they respond to rise and build again. That is what we do to persevere.
Prayers are for the lion of march to give way to the lamb and that this year we have peace and mild weather.
