About Merikay Hunt
Merikay, Founder of Coach MKay Companies, LLC, has devoted more than 30 years to helping individuals and organizations unlock leadership potential, create purposeful change, and transform business results. She partners with hospitals, dental practices, and medical organizations to strengthen leadership development, elevate communication skills, enhance team dynamics, and improve the overall patient experience.
A nationally recognized speaker and executive coach, Merikay was featured in the Women’s Journal March 2024 issue, Trailblazers at the Helm: Celebrating the Top 15 Women Coaches Shaping the Business Landscape. Throughout her career, she has developed more than 1,000 customized professional development programs, authored books, and contributed to respected industry publications.
Merikay recently relaunched her book, My Year on the Inside: Creating Catalysts for Change, sharing powerful insights on transforming organizational culture to improve both employee satisfaction and patient care. Her academic background includes a B.A. from UNC–Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in Human Resources – Business & Industry from North Carolina A&T State University. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at Cape Fear Community College and previously worked as an adjunct hospital chaplain, bringing a uniquely human-centered perspective to leadership and organizational growth.
